Chèvre Chaud

Warm baked goat cheese served on crispy bread with honey and toasted pine nuts. A classic French-inspired appetizer that feels elegant yet incredibly simple to make. Perfect for dinner parties, wine nights or a luxurious lunch.

Ingredients

Serves 4

Chèvre Toasts

  • 200 g chèvre goat cheese
  • 4 slices white bread or baguette slices
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts

Topping

  • Honey
  • Mixed salad leaves or arugula

Optional

  • Walnuts
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary
  • Balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°C (480°F).
  2. Slice the chèvre into thick rounds.
  3. Cut the bread into pieces roughly matching the size of the cheese slices.
  4. Fry the bread in butter on both sides until golden and crispy.
  5. Place the toasted bread on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  6. Add one slice of chèvre on each piece of bread.
  7. Bake in the upper part of the oven for about 3 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle over the pine nuts and bake for another 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and lightly golden.
  9. Drizzle with honey before serving.
  10. Serve warm on a bed of salad leaves or arugula.
